Indicative Experience
MENA: Managed court cases in the GCC countries regarding the infringement of the brands of international chains of hotels, restaurants and clubs, liaised with local counsel on litigating such cases and advised the clients on the legal strategies to be pursued.
UAE: Advising in respect of the leasing and operation of “The Galleria at Sowwah Square” a 33,000 sq metre high-end retail and dining concept.
UAE: Advising twofour54 on the initial stages of a significant mixed-use city centre development including title transfer and investment structuring.
UAE: Advising an Abu Dhabi master developer on a bespoke titling system, title registration and standard form disposal / occupational documentation.
UK: Advising a Jersey based shopping centre Trust in the £65 million disposition of a retail centre in Scotland.
Global: Advising Raffles Hotels on the international transfer of personal data and various data protection issues associated with customer loyalty schemes.
UAE: Negotiated 3 hotel and 1 marina concessions and all ancillary documents for hotels and marinas throughout Dubai on behalf of Dubai Properties.
Australia: Represented a resort brand on new and existing operator agreements, strata laws, off-plan sales, leasing, disputes, real estate and operational issues.
UAE: Advised a large Turkish company on their entry into the UAE market with several food and beverage brands, including liquor licensing issues.
New Zealand: Acted for the development of a mixed-use facility that included 2 hotel brands, residential, commercial and retail space, and corporate structuring.
